Movie Review “This is a story of boy meets girl. But you should know up front: This is not a love story.” So warns the omniscient narrator of (500) Days of Summer. And whether or not that disclaimer is accurate has everything to do with the two very different points of view held by this little indie movie’s main characters, Tom and Summer.

The busy yet peaceful nature of the song compliments the idea of a constantly moving metropolis that somehow, someway, manages to function as a cohesive whole. If the song’s presence on this soundtrack doesn’t bring more fame to the band, it at least brings an element of tranquil urgency to 500 Days of Summer.
“It's official. I'm in love with Summer. I love her smile. I love her hair. I love her knees. I love how she licks her lips before she talks. I love her heart shaped birthmark on her neck. I love it when she sleeps.” (Tom, 500 days of Summer) “Điều đó là chắc chắn. Tôi yêu Summer. Tôi yêu nụ cười của cô ấy.

Original Soundtrack AllMusic Rating 7 User Ratings 0 Your Rating Overview ↓ User Reviews ↓ Credits ↓ Releases ↓ Similar Albums ↓ "I love the Smiths," Zooey Deschanel enthuses during the early moments of 500 Days of Summer, thus setting the stage for her relationship with Brit-pop fanatic Joseph Gordon-Levitt. With music playing such an integral role in the story line, it's refreshing to see that the accompanying soundtrack does its job well, distilling the characters' record collections not to mention the movie's quirky, nostalgic ambience into one eclectic track list. Regina Spektor contributes two songs to the mix, but the Smiths are awarded the most screen time, performing two songs "There Is a Light That Never Goes Out," "Please, Please, Please, Let Me Get What I Want" and providing the source material for a swoony cover song by She & Him. Another Smith - the whimsical singer/songwriter Meaghan Smith - delivers one of the album's most poignant moments with a cover of "Here Comes Your Man," a tune that holds it own amidst a collection of folk classics and British pop hits. blue highlight denotes track pick
